  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, military, interests, etc.) Married w/ 4 kids, I am a Company Man for Chevron on a 14/14 schedule & I love to pretty much play any sport out there. If people are willing just call & I’ll be down for playing. I love to travel & see new places to meet new people & new cultures. I love long walks on the beach & a person with a sense of humor.
  2. What is your fitness background? What were you doing before CrossFit? I played sports all through high school & college (pushing 20 yrs ago now since college), but have always attempted to stay fit doing everything from Globo Gym to Insanity & P90X. When I found CrossFit in 2007, I was doing Insanity & thought I was on top of my game, man was I wrong.
  3. What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout? Love at first sight. Could not feel my legs, could not breathe, could not speak & that was at the end of the warm up. I knew I was in love.
  4. How did you get into CrossFit?  My family introduced me to CrossFit in 2007 & have not looked back since. It has truly changed my life & made me a more functional, confident & participatory person of this vast World that we live in.
  5. What were your goals when joining CrossFit? At first it was to get stronger, faster & destroy every WOD. As I got older & time passed, I realized that it was to be sure this was sustainable for the rest of my life. Not for a season or a phase of my life, but forever. Then the first set of goals, just happen naturally.
  6. Have you achieved any of those goals? Every bit & more. It took some time, but it’s happening all the time.
  7. Favorite WOD: Grace & Isabel
  8. Least Favorite WOD:   Cindy (anything without a barbell)
  9. Favorite Lift:   Power anything
  10. Least Favorite Lift: Heavy Deadlifts
  11. What music do you prefer to WOD out to? Hawaiian Raggae
  12. Has CrossFit affected your life outside the Gym? 100%. Having no fear of any physical challenge has truly opened the World to me, whether it be hiking, swimming, biking, snowboarding or playing with my kids & family in the park. Knowing that I am functional enough to not have to sit & watch life go by is all the motivation I need to continue CrossFitting for life. I have continually learned through CrossFit about the body & how we are meant to move, this knowledge has given me a passion to share with all of those around me to help them get to that point in their lives as well. To truly be functionally fit for life.
  13. Do you have any special memories/ achievements during your time here? It’s awesome to watch people grow & get better. From not being able to do a single air squat to setting PR’s in every movement we have. So many stories, all equally awesome & inspiring.
  14. What advice do you have for people just getting started?  Keep coming, keep moving & the rest will take care of itself. Listen to your body & communicate it with as many people as possible. Everyone in the box has been through the struggle & you never know who may have experience in feeling exactly the way you feel. Share your pains, share your triumphs & we’ll all get through it together.
  15. Something the other members might not know about you? I love running…..not.
